Tennyson Point House

September 2017

Working with Warrane Pty Ltd, our Tennyson Point home received a full redesign of the home’s ground floor and the backyard entertaining spaces. We reconfigured the existing layout by creating new entrances, replicating the homes existing archways throughout and reallocating spaces. The final result is a home truly meant for entertaining with a grand welcoming entry, a big open kitchen flowing on to formal dining room, and both a formal loungeroom with wood burning fireplace and a casual ‘man cave’ with a full bar! While the new floorpan is open, every space incorporated places to retreat and conceal- the biggest bane of open space living is that everything is on display! The kitchen benefits from a large walk-in butler’s pantry with generous prep bench space. Three meter tall hardwood timber sliding doors allow for the kitchen to be closed off from the formal lounge and entry spaces- isolating the lounge room for movie nights or simply for some peace and quiet from the rest of the house! ‘Modern Rustic’ was the look our clients were after, so all of the spaces benefitted from a good dose of white paint to aliven the dark aspect of the ground floor, that had previously been built with all exposed brick internal walls. Antique tiles from Belgium, custom concrete benchtops and the recreation of antique steel works along the hardwood sliding doors all added an undeniable point of difference in this family’s very special forever home.
