Art Deco Residence
This heritage home needed a refresh to bring out its lovely art deco period details and high ceilings while serving as a blank canvas for contemporary furnishings and art pieces. The existing home’s traditional cream palette combined with the unfavourable south-west aspect left the interiors looking tired and dark.
The redecoration saw the home painted and wallpapered before all new furnishings were introduced and art installed for the home’s two bedrooms, dining room, lounge room and formal entryway. With entertaining in mind, the home’s lounge room was furnished with a large vintage coffee table and an oversized custom sofa to allow for plenty of space for lounging.
The new petite dining room incorporates a bar for further ease of entertaining. The opportunity presented to design several custom pieces, including steel frame panel mirrors, cushions featuring designer fabrics, luxurious linen window treatments and the guest room’s bed. The forgotten exterior entertaining space was reconfigured and refurnished to reflect a bright zen garden aesthetic. Mature hedging plants were planted to further complete the transformation and provide privacy from the street and neighbours. To complete the scheme, we sourced vintage pieces from Australia, America and Europe.
